clay pot, jug, turning pottery

“Thirty spokes converge upon a single hub;
it is on the hole in the center that
the use of the cart hinges.

Shape clay into a vessel;
it is the space within that makes it useful.
Carve fine doors and windows,
but the room is useful in its emptiness.

The usefulness of what is
depends on what is not.”

Translation by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer of the 11th verse of the Tao Te Ching in his book “Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao

    Dear tania,

    it is weird to think about the void room, but the Tao Te King is right. There are so many views, so many ways to understand emptiness….
    Thank you for inspiring…
